Mussar, a Jewish practice that is over a thousand years old, is a simple practice of character refinement. The intention of mussar (roughly translated as “ethics”) is to help us become a more whole and a more holy human being. M’kor Hayim currently has two mussar groups for congregation members. Participants speak regularly about the remarkable impact it has had in their lives. Participants work with such inner traits (middot) as patience, humility, generosity, and honor. Each trait is explored through Jewish texts and personal sharing of experiences.
